Ready to Build
Life just happens…
2018 was a “landmark year” for me, professionally and personally. It was a year characterized by tremendous change: a very satisfying and enriching 13-year career with Rackspace concluded just as our second child was born, allowing us to embrace a new family dynamic. While they were impactful events, the change that inherently characterizes them are really not that unusual. Some would simply call them “life”.
…whether you like it or not!
The same type of “life” is happening to companies everywhere. Change is brought upon them, but with greater frequency and magnitude. Landmark changes are the new norm – they always have been part of early ventures but are now are also the reality for established players across the globe. Businesses are exposed to unprecedented challenges and equivalent opportunities. New companies rise more quickly and in significance, while older ones cease to exist faster as value creation and capture is quickly changing across markets. A phenomenon which is largely driven by rapid innovation in technology over the last decade and will probably be further amplified by some of the emerging technology trends we are currently seeing. Embracing the opportunity
I am among the camp that sees change as opportunity. “Life” changes gifted me the chance to put a microscope to my personal and professional ambitions, while reflecting on the future of society at large. This junction combined with the luxury of time does not come too often. I had the chance to positively shape my future and direction, and with it hope to make a bigger impact. A dynamic process, enriched by different activities, lead to the founding of the Advisory Plus GmbH. This entity is a vehicle built to work on meaningful engagements, while maximizing the impact we can have by supporting a multitude of diverse companies.
Our new website is the v.1.0 articulation of that. It is shaped by our experience, draws on our strength, and is built on the belief that a technology-focused view is the foundation for the next generation of leading companies. We view technology as the means to a fulfilling future. The means that underpin meaningful and rewarding jobs, that ultimately build the leading companies renowned for wealth generation and facilitating thriving communities.
Looking ahead
Where will this venture take us? As for most forward looking questions, the truthful answer is – no idea. On the homestretch of this decade, we took the important step to embrace the opportunity and to set ourselves up to take on the next one with momentum. The first step in achieving a positive outcome.
